bRENDA xIMENA rOLDAN rOMERO

3D ANIMATOR

(Brenda Ximena ("Xime") Roldan Romero) Spanish/British 3D Animator. My animation journey began at Bournemouth University's NCCA (National Centre of Computer Animation), where I graduated with First-Class Honours in BA (Hons) Computer Animation and Visualization in 2019. Following that, I completed my MA in 3D Animation at the same institution, graduating with Distinction in 2020. I had the honour to write and Direct the Award Winning short film "Gaia" as my postgraduate graduation film. The short film has been 2 times award winner and counts with over 20 international film festival selections. I also participated as a mentee in AccessVFX and Woman In Animation (WIA) Circles program.

I started my professional journey in 2020, working with Blue Zoo Animation Studios as a Junior 3D Animator for the TV series "Pip and Posy (2021)" and the short film, "Sinking Feeling."

In 2021 I joined MPC (London) taking on the role of a 3D Junior Animator for "Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)" and "Prehistoric Planet (2022)." My involvement extended to the pre-production stages of "Prehistoric Planet (2023)," "Aquaman: The Last Kingdom (2023)," and "Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2024)." Upon returning to Blue Zoo Animation Studios in 2022, I assumed the position of Mid-3D Character Animator for "Pip and Posy" Season 2 (2023). In April 2023 I joined the team at AXIS Studios as a 3D Animator for an undisclosed Marvel Project. Currently, I am part of the team at Jellyfish Pictures as a 3D Feature Animator working on an undisclosed Dreamworks Animation Project.

Outside of animation, I occasionally teach as a part-time Animation Lecturer at Bournemouth University and collaborate with various international animation festivals, conducting talks and masterclasses.

I am also the Vice-Chair at London ACM Siggraph. Siggraph is a volunteer association that allows me to mentor young animators in universities, events, and film festivals, allowing me to give back to the community. As well as create and develop opportunities for the communities to promote and network with new artists.

I grew up as a self-taught artist, inspired by my artistic family, where design, art, and music have been a fundamental part of my education.

I am passionate about creating projects that convey a message to the audience. I mainly focus on environmental 'green' stories. I believe that as filmmakers we have the tools to tell fantastic and entertaining stories, but also to teach something while we do, it creating awareness in our audience. I believe it is a small contribution and duty as an artist towards our society and our planet.
