Sinking Feeling is PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide's short film which has been created in collaboration with the BAFTA Award-winning animation studio, Blue Zoo. Launched on World Suicide Prevention Day 2021, Sinking Feeling explores themes of loneliness, isolation and the importance of peer support; it tackles the heart-breaking reality that many children and young people are suffering in silence without the vital help and support they need. The Blue Zoo Virtual Choir recorded a cover of ‘True Colours’ by Cyndi Lauper to accompany the story of the short. In a traditional wooden theatre set, we follow our puppet koala (Gaia) to discover how innocent and playful she is when she comes down from her tree to investigate some strange lights and sounds from the forest. Soon she realises is a dangerous fire, and when she tries to escape she realizes there is no way out. Gaia stands for 'Mother Earth'.
